CATT | Travel advisor video editing checklist and reusable prompt Updated October 7, 2026. Companion to our October 6 Accelerator session. https://cattsuccess.com/blog/social-media-video-editing-for-travel-advisors BEFORE RECORDING Choose one useful question your ideal traveler asks. Write one opening and one next step. Choose a quiet spot and check the audio. Only use footage, music and client stories you have permission to share. Keep private client information out of the shot and out of uploaded files. RECORD ONCE Keep the camera running when you stumble. Briefly cover the lens, then restart the sentence; the blackout marks the edit. Try several openings for the same useful point without changing the facts. EDIT Keep the original recording. Work on a duplicate. Remove failed takes using your markers, then unnecessary gaps in the waveform. Leave natural pauses where they help meaning; do not cut words in half. Use one saved font and caption style. Do not hide the point behind effects. Check captions manually, especially destinations, supplier names and prices. Watch every export with sound on and off. Check framing and text safe areas. REUSABLE AI-ASSISTED EDITING BRIEF This requires file access, actual video-editing tools and an export/render workflow. An ordinary AI chat may only be able to produce an edit plan. "Work with the recording I have permission to use. First confirm which editing and export tools are available. If you cannot edit the file, give me an edit plan with timestamps instead of claiming to have rendered a video. Audience: [specific traveler]. Core message: [one useful point]. Create up to five distinct clips, each about 30-75 seconds, only if the footage supports that many. Give each a different opening without inventing dialogue. Keep my actual voice and intended meaning. Remove mistakes and unnecessary silence, but preserve natural pacing. Use [font/caption style] with readable contrast, restrained transitions and no unrequested logo or generated scenes. Flag uncertain transcript words. Export [platform/aspect ratio/resolution] and provide a clip list with timestamps so I can review every cut before posting." REVIEW WHAT WORKED Keep a note of the hook, subject, replies, saves and shares. Compare useful conversations, not only views. Adapt the next recording. https://cattsuccess.com/free-resources/weekly-rhythm-planner Coaching Agents Through Travel | Oliver and Alexandra Catt Examples and suggested workflows, not a guarantee of views, leads or bookings.
